I am currently applying to a University Without Walls program to transfer some of the last 8 years I have spent as a working artist into college credit- the application is a 5-6 page paper on my career and why it should be considered to qualify as equivalent to something like a fine art degree, and I have to submit it as soon as possible to be considered.

My work is nothing without the people who I get to make it with and for, so I figured anything I write could only be stronger with your collaboration just like the work we make together. I’d be so touched to be able to intersperse my writing with testimonial from clients that contextualizes and grounds what I’m talking about in real life, and grounds this work in all the other beautiful human things beyond drawing that it is.

If you are willing to spend a few moments and touch on something from our work together that meant something to you or an experience you had that was specific and positive, please let me know below. This could be related to fine art and technical skill, communication and accommodation, or admin and business- all are helpful and relevant to the kind of credits I may qualify for. I think short, sweet, and specific will be most helpful to me in this context.

It feels really vulnerable and a little silly to ask for this! But I think it could be more impactful than just listing stuff I’ve done on my own, as I have learned from every tattoo I have gotten to give in these last 8 years, the more connected we are the stronger the work.
